Makin a Movie

welcome to Casa de Mylrea! this beautiful home is filled with lots of characters and love. Mindy and Bruce have three children. and by three children, i mean three boys between the age of 18 and 25 who act more like they're 16ish. Darcy is dating the middle son christopher, who his father refers to as 'man-boy.' (lmao) Darcy typically lives in LA, but is in Santa Cruz to help the family out with a fitness convention. Mindy is a well known fitness instructor who sells dvds. she is currently filming a set of dvds for what else, weight loss. although the dvds are mostly comprised of workouts, there is a section on healthy eating. that portion of the video is to be shot in their own kitchen at home. here are some shots from the... shoot....

Mindy, in the pink, prepares for the shoot. oldest brother, Drew, lines up the shot in the background.

Mindy is the cuttest thing ever. she is currently doing a workout program for 30 ladies, it's a six week plan and they are just about half way done. sonya, in the blue, is one of mindy's 'back-up babes'

some technical work.

here is the food mindy will discuss- goods and bads

"can we have you two beautiful ladies sit here so we can set up our lighting and placement?" "um, sure." ps, look at that froof.

steven... we're going into an online business together. he promised me 50% lefthandedletters.com

behind me and darcy, toby casually poses for the camera.

Casey (KC) is the youngest and he somehow turns me and darcy into 15 year olds. he can't walk past darcy without facewashing her. the three of us have had many slumbies over the last few days.

so mad...

on set.

lots of things.

Drew- probably being over dramatic.

directors and such.

almost ready...

the Mylrea's are a GREAT family. i thought staying with them for a week could be potentially awkward- turns out, it's been a total blast. the house is always filled with people because mindy and bruce are so inviting. i love the fact that one of my bffs found such a good adopted family to be a part of!!

All You Can Jet Montaray Bay

Alright... Get ready for some gorgeous pictures. trying to get the most of my All You Can Jet pass, i wanted to spend some time on the west coast. First stop- darcy. darcy and i have a habit of meeting each other in places where neither of us live. so when darcy had to cancel our time together in L.A. because she had some work to do in santa cruz, it was only fitting that i just flew there anyways. since i was going to santa cruz anyways, i stopped to see my friend kristofer in montaray bay.

Here is the food i got at this very cute diner in the airport. Strawberry milkshake and french fries.

As soon as i got to kristofer and joanna's (kristofer's wife) apartment, i saw an old friend... kristfoer's laptop from freshman year which we now refer to as Old and Busted (OAB)

outside of kristofer's apartment.

Kristofer had nose surgery two weeks before i came to visit. he was dealing with some issues.

kristofer's bike

i make his bike look good.

on the beach, i dunno which one, and this really religious lady told us she knew that we would both find our spouses soon because we gave off a good feeling. (o:

Pebble beach- literally

Bye fog

we're on our way to big sur- the mountains literally run into to the ocean here so highway 1 is a super gorgeous drive. the only problem is the fog sits between the mountains. still pretty anyways.

This guy, and his two friends, were biking up this hill. we asked where he was going... he's from vancouver and he's biking, not motorcycle biking, to argentina. he said it would take 1.5 years.

my fav. photo by kristofer.

then we went to downtown montaray bay-

kristofer and joanna got married by the justice of the peace last december. they're going to celebrate with their friends and family at another wedding in january.

jelly fish... so cool.

sea lions.

although i've only been in california for a few days, i've already had a really great time. next up- darcy in santa cruz. it's gonna be super fun!!

New York City

I met Sarah when i briefly attended Slippery Rock. I would like to say i joined the swim team so i could help out the team and swim at a competitive level... but in all honesty, i joined so i didn't gain my freshman fifteen. not quite so glamorous. luckily for me i met some awesome ladies there. i'm sure you all know from watching the olympics a few years back... the fastest swimmers are in lanes three an four... my placement in lane 6 obviously explains how good i was. sarah was there too, she had some sort of injury, so in no time we became good friends. anyways- we lost touch for a while but thanks to the internet we reconnected and now we are better friends than we've ever been.

amazingly my trip lacked in typical new york events. there was no going to the world trade center memorial or seeing the lights in time square. my trip was more about 90 degree days and good times with good friends.

Night 1 of getting into the city sarah and i got ready to have a night on the town. as we were walking to the subway we simultaneously realized that neither of us wanted to go out. so instead we ordered chinese food and had some good conversations on her bal-cony (it's italian.)
Sarah works for 230 fifth. It's a night club/restaurant that apparently makes bank. here's a picture of us at brunch on sunday afternoon.

i only have two pictuers to share with you from my trip, and i didn't even take one of them, but i had a great time anyways.... next up, Austin.

All You Can Jet- Austin

so here's the deal. last month, i stumbled upon Jetblue's All You Can Jet (AYCJ) pass. I can fly anywhere Jetblue flys for an entire month (septmeber 8th till october 7th) for the low cost of $500. that's it. so awesome right? if your reading this blog, you already know i met a ton of people on SAS that live all over the place. you know what they say right?.... Might as well...

First stop Austin. The day before I left Pittsburgh for Austin, sister called and informed me that there was some sort of hurricane a brewing. It was later downgraded to a tropical depression so- off I went.
Meet steve. steve and i met in high school. between slumbys with the crew and punk rock concerts, we became crazy good friends.

Oh that pose....
Steve's friend CJ is also a photographer, he took this photo. unaware of my back button focus.

Steve and CJ share a very odd bond....
check out that steelers flag outside an Austin bar.... STEELERS NATION.
The rain from the hurricane was very off an on. but when it fell it was like cats and dogs. we stopped into stubbs bar during a particular down pour.
we also used the public transportation... $2 for a whole day pass.
we stopped in a toy store that had an ice cream parlor attached... together at last.

dear austin, i love you.... see you soon!!
